Respond rather than react
When faced with a perceived harmful event, attack, or threat, do you tend to react? Reacting is our “fight” reaction and can quickly drain our energy. Reacting to people or situations often means you regret your reaction later.
Between this “threat” and our reaction, we can choose to create a space. In this space, we can choose our response.
Responding allows us to keep our energy, remain calm, and be wise.
Next time you are threatened by someone or a situation STOP!
S – stop and take a few breaths
T – think about what is going on
O – observe & consider options
P – then proceed
